Westgate Branson – Nightmare Travel

We are always looking to establish new traditions with our families, hopefully, traditions that everyone loves so much they look forward to.

This year we thought a mystery back to school trip for all grandchildren 10 or older might be the ticket.  Our hope was a mystery train ride somewhere but the pickings are pretty slim for places to take a train from St Louis so instead, we opted to spend more money than we had budgeted to go to Branson.  We found what was the perfect little resort for grandparents with one grandchild in tow and a little dog.  Westgate Woods Resort. (Our 5-year-old cockapoo weighs 20lbs.)

We booked it on hotels.com because it seemed to be the best way to see all the area hotels that were pet-friendly and had a separate bedroom.  Here are the photos

We booked dinner at the Dixie Stampede and ordered train tickets in advance.

When we arrived on 8/7/2017 I went in to check us in.  I was told I had to pay a $170 pet deposit.  I explained no that when I booked I paid all fees and the $170 was never a part of this agreement. (I had already paid for the rental and had my granddaughter sitting in the car with a dog, what was I going to do?  She went on to explain this is to thoroughly clean the room in case the next person staying there had allergies.  Reluctantly with no other options, I paid it.  I later realized it was also NON-REFUNDABLE!!

They directed me to some other person to go pick up my key, then that person escorted me to a big desk with a man behind it who proceeded to try to offer me “Free show tickets” if of course, I would sit thru a timeshare presentation.  I explained I already paid for my tickets before I came and I had no desire to buy a timeshare.  He was pretty pushy, offering me $100 in cash,  but I left just the same.

So off I went to my room……

I was MORE than a little miffed to see EVERY inch of flooring was simply final faux wood and the sofa was leather.  So THIS is what I paid a $170 pet cleaning fee for? REALLY?

I was further stunned when I saw my amazing view out the window.

We were in a hurry to make it to the show so I ran in and dropped my bag so we wouldn’t be late.  I was stunned to see my bedroom include a piece of random wood as the headboard.

This photo is taken right before we left, the bed was made when we arrived.

Off we went to the Dixie Stampede and then back to our “Home away from home” to relax play games and watch TV.  This was the first time I got to take a really good look at this unit and was completely grossed out.  Now keep in mind while viewing these photos I only stayed here 2 nights. and remember I was FORCED at check-in to pay a $170 NON-REFUNDABLE pet fee.

The bathroom, the chair we were supposed to sit and eat dinner on OMG it was DISGUSTING! Bugs in the light, this unit has NEVER been cleaned or at least for a long time and they wanted ANOTHER $170 when they didn’t even clean the unit they put us in?  The kennel my DOG sleeps in is cleaner than this room!!!!!

While exploring the next day it became clear they put us in a unit that is in a building where no one else is staying and is under renovation.  The common hallway where the snack and soda machine are kept was filled with abandoned furniture and even filthier than our room.

The rooms facing the parking lot had no curtains and clearly were having work done

The staff was parking in the parking lot for this building leaving us to park pretty far away from our unit,  This happened EVERY day and the cars sat there all day long.  We could watch the staff get out of the car and walk over to work, there is no doubt this was not other guests.

Honestly, we were miserable in our room but kept busy doing things elsewhere so we didn’t have to be in the room.  When we left I felt filthy, I washed even the clothes I didn’t wear and aired out my suitcase.  I would NEVER recommend staying at Westgate Woods in Branson.

Car SCAM – Don’t be the victim

car scam alert.jpg

Looking for a used car?

Find one that is a GREAT deal?

So did I, luckily I took the time to do a little research now I am going to share that with you.  When inquiring about a car i found on cars.com if a car was still available I got this response from someone claiming to be Daniel Gilliam  (danielgilliam239@gmail.com)

First, a few words about this 2005 Nissan Frontier SE is in perfect working condition, with nothing mechanically wrong – like new! This vehicle has 145,300 miles, used just to cruise. No accident history, clear title, no dents or dings and no scratches. Transmission type: Automatic. If you decide to buy it, you’ll receive all the papers, owner manual, keys, a buy-sell contract already signed by me and the clear title.
I have a low price ($2,500), because I want to sell it before August 15th. The reason for selling is that I am in U.S. Air Force part of a emergency medical team and my unit will be sent back oversea to replace and help the troops scheduled to come home this year, and I don’t want it get old in a storage garage for 18 month
If you’re interested to conclude this purchase in a timely manner email me your: Full Name and Shipping Address, to open a case with eBay. They will contact you to explain the entire procedure. The financial part will be managed by them, which means that you will have a 5 days inspection period before committing to buy the vehicle. eBay buyer protection we are both 100% covered during the steps of this transaction.
Hope to hear from you soon

In case you weren’t sure, THIS is where this landed on the BULL$HIT scale
Here was my response:
“You should be ashamed of yourself for impersonating someone who is serving our country to scam someone out of their money.  You might WIN with this scam with some poor person who doesn’t know better but KARMA has a funny way of coming around for people like you and when it doesn’t, when that next bad thing happens to you or yours, be it money, sickness or even untimely death remember you brought it on yourself by hurting others.”
We can laugh and joke about this but these guys/girls are doing this because it works!  They steal someones money and they are laughing at us all the way to the bank.

They hide it many ways.
Look at Glenda Pearson a seemingly normal facebook user posts this for her “mom”  so by the way find her on Facebook because she is also a SCAMMER!
In my search for a car a friend sent me a link from a facebook.com group she has purchased several cars from successfully.  I quickly emailed the person to get the info, here is the email I got back from her.

Hi, like I said in my first email, I moved to Omaha, NE to my sister. The car is with me, and it’s ready to be delivered to its next owner. I am responsible only for the shipping. I am not involved in the payment process. Payment is between you and eBay. I get paid only after you receive the car and agree to its condition. If you don’t like the car, eBay will fully refund you and I will get the car back. I am an eBay member and using this service you will get a 7 days testing period after delivery. During that 7 days testing period I will not be getting any money from eBay. If you are interested and you want to review the eBay terms, please email me your info so I can fill out the form on eBay. I need your name and an address where you want the car delivered. Once I have it, I will contact eBay and they will send you all the details on how this works.

Again someone playing with a buyer, telling a sad tale of my loss is your gain.  I almost fell for this one hook line and sinker until I google (probably much like you) car scam.
My hope is this post will help someone like me to avoid being taken advantage of.  Please share it with the people you care about and feel free to comment the names and email addresses of anyone YOU find who is playing this scam to tie them to this fraudulent scam.
Stay safe out there everyone!

Proper Pumpkin Etiquette

When did pumpkin carving transform to pumpkin painting?

Each Halloween season, the weekend before, I would gather up my 6 children and 6 pumpkins and we would spend the afternoon carving pumpkins.  The adults took on the task of cutting the tops off, while the kids squealed after sticking their hands inside to remove the “guts” of their gourd.

After the cleaning was done it was time for them to draw the face they desired on the pumpkin and the adults again would man the blades and cut out their design.

In later years we started using those books with patterns so they could achieve the more sophisticated designs they desired however they still had to do some cleaning and carving to get to the end.  Still it was time together, talking and laughing.  A family moment to be looked back on fondly.

Proudly on Halloween the pumpkins would be displayed on the front porch with candles burning inside.  I still remember the smell of the pumpkin with the hot candle inside, it was like a pre-view of the pumpkin pies to come in the coming weeks.

For me these memories are a BIG part of the Halloween tradition.  I thought I was setting the stage for awesome childhood memories and traditions for future generations.

I started thinking more about this, this year when a Facebook friend posted photos of her office pumpkin contest asking her friends to VOTE on the best.  While they were cute and creative all but one, yes ONE were painted.  There was only one carved pumpkin in the bunch.

So I cast my vote for best painted and best carved.  So back to the point, when did painted become the norm?  All the children missing all the smells of Halloween all the mess of Halloween.

What’s next?

The Death of Cell Phone Deals

ATT good vs bad.png

This started out as  consumer “BITCH” Blog but what happens in the process will STUN you!  I have been an AT & T customer I think most of my life (I am 53) BUT records show me as a customer since only 2005 which is ok still a long time.  I pay a monthly wireless bill of over $250 each month and I even have u-verse that costs me another $250 plus each month.

I have 5 phones on my plan 4 are for my children.  Today however I am faced with walking away from AT & T completely, my u-verse, my cell service and yes even selling my stocks.

On 9/3 I walked into the store in Florissant, MO on North Lindbergh.  My daughters phone had finally died.  Because she is a young college student who works over nights sitting with the elderly or physically unable I knew she could not go long without a phone.  So the next day I went to my local At & T Store located in Florissant Mo in N Lindbergh.

I was pleasantly surprised when I was waited on almost immediately.  I believe the young man who waited on me was named Bryan (I only know that from the follow up text AT & T sent me the next day)  I can’t afford to keep buying new phones for my children so I thought I would just upgrade my 5s to a 6s plus and give her mine, I mean the new 7 is coming out so surely there will be a deal on the 6s right?

I went into the store and explained what I needed.  A new iPhone 6s plus but I want my plans etc to remain the same, I was very clear about this because I have the grandfathered unlimited plan.  I reminded the young man that absolutely no changes could happen to my data plan because I didn’t want to lose this service.  In fact this plan is part of what keeps me as a AT & T Customer.
So he showed me phones, each time I asked him “how much” he said, “you only pay the tax.”   I said it doesn’t matter what phone I get I only pay the tax?  He said yes mam only the tax.  I asked again are you sure? , this doesn’t seem right, online it said the phone was $900.  He said again , “you only pay the tax”.  I thought WOW that is awesome!  This must be a perk of being a customer so long with so many phones.  YEAH!
I said ok picked a phone and started the process.  About 45 minutes or more into the process he hands me a screen to sign, it says pay $79 today and financing $949.  I say wait, you said I only had to pay the tax and he said, yes thats all you pay is the tax.  I said wait a minute.  It says I am paying $949 for this phone, you NEVER told me the price of ANY phone we looked at today.  You said you only pay the tax, so I wasn’t able to make a decision on price, every time I asked you how much you said, “you only pay the tax”.  He then said something that stunned me, “Well that is the financing”.  WHAT?  I thought to myself,  does he realize I have to PAY the financing?   Is he just dumb or is he trying to confuse or deceive me?  I stopped him right there and said STOP right now.  I am not paying $949.00 for a phone.  Please just give me my old phone and lets stop this right now.
He was clearly upset, started packing things up, I said my phone isn’t working please make it work it says no service.  I said why does my phone say no service, he said because you are connected to wifi.  I thought that doesn’t make sense it connects to wifi at home and works but ok.   He gives me my phone back and it still says no service.  I tell him he needs to fix this, he is barely speaking to me now, clearly upset.  Someone comes to help him and a new sim card is put in my phone.   Once he finally gets it working I get a text message that says I have gone over my data limit.  I immediately show it to him and say what does this mean??  I have unlimited data I am grand fathered.  Did you change something?  He looks at my phone and then says no and to ignore it it doesn’t mean anything.  A few minutes later it says it again.  I ask him again, remember he isn’t even hardly looking at me now, he is packing up all the accessories he tried to sell me instead.   now a lady who appears to be a store manager comes over to help him.
She is also quite dismissive of me and my questions.  She tells him to keep packing up all the garbage on the table.   I tell her I don’t understand why am I paying full price for a phone AND renewing a 2 year contract?  You used to get a phone discount when you renewed.  She said it is NOT like that anymore.  Now you get cheap cell phone service and have to pay full price for the phone.  WHAT??? Cheap cell phone service?  HAHAHA Have you seen my bill??????  $250 per month!!!!  I said you get me on the phone AND you tie me back to your service for 2 more years and I get NO incentive to resign?   She said that is the way ALL the phone companies work now.  And as I researched this I think she is right, when did this happen?  How did this happen?  My phone bill doesn’t go down it only goes up?  Who can afford this insanity?   I say never mind I just want my phone back in EXACTLY the same order it was before, I keep getting overage texts and he says it means nothing, I need it fixed now.    She runs around with my phone for 10 minutes or so and comes back and says ok it is fixed.  I ask her if she is sure, she says yes.  Disgusted I leave, feeling certain I will be the talk of the place once I am out of ears reach.
The next morning I have another email saying I have gone over my data limit.  So I log online to AT & T to a chat session to get help.  This chat probably took more than an hour.
You can read the entire chat if you like but the skinny is this
At this moment my grandfathered unlimited data plan has been removed and a case had to be opened to try to get it back up that MIGHT take up until 9/13 (In short he DID remove it, those text messages DID mean something and she did NOT fix it)
The young man at the store has no business working with customers, he was deceitful in his practices.  I asked him clearly HOW MUCH was this phone and every time he answered the same you pay only the taxes.  When I challenged him on that after he showed the the 949 cost he said, well yeah but that is the financing… WHAT do you not realize I PAY that amount?
It is not only he who should be fired or at least retrained but who in the world trained this guy?  I called the store  when it opened that morning and I was told the manager was on vacation and someone named Bob was in charge but he was with a customer and couldn’t talk to me.  You do realize that it is easier to keep a customer than to get a new customer right?
A stock holder
A customer since MORE than 2005
Paying you over $500 a month for services and NO one could find the time to treat me properly?
I could see the writing on the wall that ATT might no longer be a good partner for me in my business and personal life and might not even be a good future invest for me if this is how you chose to do business.
I was VERY disappointed and hope someone there at the top stops for a moment to look into this and attempts to find a way to teach your employees how valuable loyal customers are.
Steps to get action.
So I went to AT & T’s corporate website and found the name of the Chairman and CEO.  With a little digging I found is email.  Once you get the formula for company email they normally are all the same (firstname.lastname@companyurl  or firstinitial.lastname@companyul)  So I took the entire list of Executives  I found that here and emailed them basically what I have written in this blog.  I also went to investor services and emailed everyone on that list, I found them here.  As a stock holder I figure I have one more way to complain.
Within 24 hours on a holiday weekend I got 4 responses.  2 responses from people who I did not email but I was stunned when TWO top executives took the time on the Sunday of a Holiday weekend and PERSONALLY replied to me.  Here are the emails below.

From Nickie Parsons- She was not on my email list so someone must have sent this to her

From Leann Priebe-She was not on my email list so someone must have directed my email to her

Ms. Mantia,

This is LeAnn Priebe the Central Region President for AT&T.  I apologize for the service you received in our Florissant store.  We will have someone reach out to you today to get this taken care of.

Thank you.

LeAnn Priebe

When I first began this blog post I wondered if I would be left hanging by this corporate mammoth.  I think most people might have, heck MANY people might have believed the young man who told him that the cost was only the tax and signed on the dotted line.  It looks like my situation might be well on the road to correction even on a holiday weekend thanks to some hard working people and some well placed emails.

Know your rights and who to reach out to when the systems they set in place FAIL.  I have adjusted to the fact that I am going to have to pay a small fortune for a phone at least now I know all the facts.  I ended up feeling not so bad about it when I went and bought my new phone at Best buy and also secured a $100 Best buy gift card.

But what is the real moral of the story?  Somewhere between the poor customer service you may receive and the very top, you find that there are MANY people who actually DO care and WILL take action even at a time that is inconvenient.  I have to say for ME The group of individuals listed above who responded to me when above and beyond to not only resolve my problem BUT to also show me that NO ONE at AT & T is too big to help fix something that is broken.

GOFUNDME Revolution – when is enough enough?

I have seen this posted and a lot of VERY hateful comments.  Here’s my 2 cents.  She cancelled her wedding out of respect for those killed AND because frankly it was not the time for a family event.

These places aren’t gonna refund her money.  She is a victim here and the one who gave up his name so the police could stop him from hurting anyone else.

FOUR days before her wedding she had to come to the realization that her brother, the man she grew up with, murdered 9 human beings, IN CHURCH!  Can you even imagine what that must feel like?  Do you know what that does to a family?  Do you know the guilt a family holds for acts like this?

I do!

My brother is a murderer!  In 1977 he stabbed someone 35 times and that person died, and what happened to our family after that was something no one should ever live through.  That guilt followed both my mother and father until the day they died.  Some people know this part of my life, others do not.  But this isn’t about me, this is about a young girl, who was trying to bring something normal back to their lives that will NEVER be the same again.

So poor young girl, trying to start new life, prob doesn’t have much money to start probably is struggling financially to try to salvage what will always be tied to a horrendous act.   I say leave the poor girl alone!  She did nothing wrong, her parents did not do this either.  Her brother did this!  He pulled the trigger, he killed these people, he killed them in their house of worship, a place that should have been a safe place.

On another note!  WTH with gofundme?  Number one you do NOT get all the money you raise, gofundme takes more than 5%!  Let’s call this what it is, gofundme is raking it in.  They are not giving it back to the family of the cancer victim!   Have you actually been to that site ever?  Hundreds and thousands of pages for people with hands out.  Not working for a living, not opening lemonade stands on corners to make money, not selling personal possessions to raise capital, but begging!  Hoping their photo and story will tug at your heart strings to give!

And YOU!  The media!  You go to these families and say things like, we have had calls at the station how to donate to you, you should start a gofundme page.  What happened to well meaning family members openinga bank acct when there was a need?  A place for donations, YOU are encouraging this none sense!  And then you blast it all over the media when you see this poor girl usng it?  What in the heck is wrong with you people?

Here is how much money gofundme is raking in.

Ok but back to the point of this biog

I think this young lady had some poor judgement putting her name out there for this in light of what happened, but I don’t think this makes her a horrible person.  And I don’t think she deserves the pure unadulterated hate being directed towards her.

I don’t think she was trying to get something FREE and take advantage of the situation.  Here s what the go fund me page actually said….

I think she is a devastated young lady who had the greatest day of her life, one she planned, saved and paid for ripped out from under her by a man filled with hatred and was trying to make some way to take it back and find that moment of joy again in her life.

She has my prayers for peace.

As for gofundme, I have a personal standard never to support anything driven by that site.  If there is someone I am moved to donate too I will find another way.

You might not like what I have to say, but it is just my 2 cents

6/26/2015 Historic Same-Sex Marriage Decision

Gay marriage

The official statement read as follows,

“Today, the Supreme Court, in a historic decision, struck down same-sex marriage bans in 13 states, including Missouri. This decision means that all Missourians, regardless of their place of residence within the state, have the freedom to marry.
Missouri’s marriage ban has been in place since 2004 through a public vote. Various court cases have allowed marriage licenses to be issued in St Louis City, St. Louis County and Jackson County. Due to today’s ruling, PROMO anticipates all counties should begin issuing marriage licenses to eligible same sex couples. This also means the rights and benefits conferred through marriage are available to all legally married couples within Missouri.
The decision made by the Supreme Court comes during a time of significance for the lesbian and gay community. Today is the two year anniversary of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) being struck down, as well as the anniversary week of the Stonewall Riots in 1969.”
And you hear this or read this and pause, and the tears began to well and sobbing soon followed.    And I wonder why, why am I so emotional about this?  Of course this effects me, but I have not been on the front line of the fight.  It has not stopped me from loving and living with the person I see is right for me.  I might not have had the word marriage to tie to it but I lived my life as most married couple do.  So why am I crying?
I am crying because when someone stands over you and tells you, you are WRONG, you are BAD for so long it is like being suffocated, gasping for every breath.  A labored daily existence where everything is just a little harder than it should be and then suddenly someone removes the pillow from your face and you feel the warmth of the sunshine on your face and you can FINALLY take a deep breath of the cool clean air.
YOU are OK.

Same-sex marriage supporters talk with same-sex marriage opponents in front of the US Supreme Court on March 26, 2013 in Washington, DC, as the Court takes up the issue of gay marriage. The US Supreme Court on Tuesday heard arguments on the emotionally charged issue of gay marriage as it considers arguments that it should make history and extend equal rights to same-sex couples. Waving US and rainbow flags, hundreds of gay marriage supporters braved the cold to rally outside the court along with a smaller group of opponents, some pushing strollers. YOU matter.
YOUR love is valid.
The country you live in recognizes you as an equal person.
Sure the extreme conservatives will grumble and find ways to continue to undermine where possible but it is the “Law of the Land” now.
What will you stand on this political election since this one is now removed from boosting your soap box?
This is history that our grand children and great grand children will be reading in history books.
Right here right now 6/26/2015 THIS is the moment that marriage became an equal right for all.
To my LGBT brethren who have lived for years in the shadows, in self hatred, in fear in shame, our great country says, “YOU matter, your love is valid and we accept you as you are.”

Is the deal too good to be true? YES

There are many shopping sites out there today who provide you deals on everything from dinner to diamonds.  It seems like there was Groupon and then suddenly there were 100’s of them.

I have bought from several of them over the years, mostly without incident.  I want to tell you about one to be sure to avoid, I am certain there are others so feel free to post your stories here as well.

Moolala is yet another one of those sales sites emailing constantly about the deals they have that are unbelievable.  Thing is the items that they have to sell are JUNK, TRASH!  They are rarely worth the price you pay and certainly are NOT worth the price they claim the item is valued at.

Look carefully at any photos and descriptions and then JUST SAY NO!

One recent story I personally encountered was on an items they called LED Starry Sky Projection Lamp.  The idea behind this item was it was a lamp that lit your ceiling with a TRUE rendition of the constellations, you could even personalize it by turning it to a selected month.  I thought this would be the perfect night light for the grand children who were eating us out of house and home on the cost of flash light batteries.  Finally a lamp with enough light to make them feel better and no more batteries.

Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 3.32.18 PM

Here is the link to all the photos of this deal, note the photo that shows where the power cord is plugged in. http://www.moolala.com/deals/id/L9P8ARV

Or so I thought… Silly me for thinking a lamp came with a plug.  When it arrived in its cheap little almost non-existent box I saw the hole for where you plug it in but no plug.  It also had a place for batteries.  Anxious to use it I popped in the batteries.  The entire thing kept falling a part in my hand but still I thought the light part was cool for the kids.  I emailed the company asking them to please send me the missing plug.  I got a guy name Wyatt.

Wyatt asked me what the item was and asked me what I was missing, asked me where they needed to mail it even.  I asked him why he needed my address I mean you shipped it to me in the first place, but ok I complied.  Later I get an email saying it dod not come with a plug.  I said it doesn’t come with a plug?  Then I want a refund please send me a paid return item tag.  I went on to say they item was not what I expected and it should have come with a plug.  He replied, what made you think it had a plug, where does it say it has a plug?  I replied IT IS A LAMP, LAMP IMPLIES PLUG!

He told me I was out of luck and surely they do not care about my little $9.00 I paid.  He said it is up to the vendor who sold the item.  WHAT you do not back up the products you advertise?

The $9.00 really in’t the point.  The point is customer service, the point is happy customers, the point is selling items that are not junk.  It is really sad today that there are companies like this out there doing business and praying on unsuspecting customers like myself.  Sure my $9.00 isn’t much but multiply that number by the thousands of buyers they have and this quickly amounts to BIG MONEY.

I caution you before you use any of these online shopping sites to do a quick search on them  I usually try the company name and the words ripp off or fraud, that quickly pulls up unhappy customers.  Check Angies List and the Ripp Off Report, you can check the BBB (Who gave them an F rating) too but I have found that site to be pretty ineffective.

Amazon on the other hand has been stellar about rectifying problems immediately even when it is dealing with another vendor who is on their site.

My Living Healthy Commitment

One year ago today I held out my pack of cigarettes and told Vivian this was the last of my cigarettes.  She replied asking if I needed to run and get more, I said, “no I think this is the last of my cigarettes forever”.

January 28th was my first day smoke Free and I remain smoke free.

For those of you who are struggling with quitting smoking let me say, it is hard, and I still crave a cigarette almost every day of my life, but I am glad to be free of the smell, the cost and the stigma that is that of a smoker.

Although my journey began a year ago to being healthier there are still MANY steps to complete.  I feel like although my lungs were clearer I had now gained so much weight, what was the point maybe I should have kept smoking.  Many of you however have reinforced, losing weight can and will happen, just stay the course on the non-smoking thing.  So I have.  So today I ask for your support and help as I start phase 2 of getting healthy, Let the Healthy Eating Begin.

I have gained more than an adequate amount of weight since I quit smoking AND decided to start a new business, stress does crazy things to cravings.  I hope you will join me on my journey to being healthier as I begin the process of losing weight.

I am not setting a goal to be Bikini ready I am simply setting the goal to lose at least 50 pounds, increase my activity and eat healthier foods.  Oh yeah to add more water to my in take as well.  Feel free to join me on this journey if you want, it begins on January 28th.

No one can just say the words that I want change without the desire to really do so, and no one can “Make” you do it their way.  Instead I believe we need to take it one step at a time making commitments we are willing to stand by and be accountable for.  Below I am listing some of the commitments that I think are needed in this process and encourage you if you want change to select the ones that work for you at this time and make your own commitment to living a healthier life

Whats on your list? Losing weight? Quit smoking? Get a new job? Hitting the gym more often? Creating a budget? More time with the family? How about getting your estate plan in order?
I didn’t think so.
Estate planning is one of those things that no-one likes to think about either because you think you don’t need it (I am too young for that). Or you think it’s too complicated or expensive (I can’t afford doing this now, maybe later). Maybe I can counter these objections with some simple information.
Estate planning is not the same as financial planning. Part of creating a good financial plan is getting your estate plan completed but you can do one without the other.
If you own a home, own vehicles, have life insurance, have retirement plans, or have a bank account, you have an estate that should go to your family or loved…

MAIN COURSE- Crockpot Lasagna

Personally I LOVE this recipe, I did use some olive oil to grease the crockpot first, I used jar sauce, spinach instead of the meat and wheat pasta. This is a lot like regular lasagna it gets better and better as left overs!

My Free Recipe Box

crockpot lasagna

1 pound Italian sausage (Replace meat with spinach for a healthier option)

1 onion, chopped

2 teaspoons minced garlic

jar of spag sauce 35 plus ounces

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 (12 ounce) package  lasagna noodles (I like wheat)

12 ounces cottage cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

In a large skillet over medium heat cook the Italian sausage, onion, and garlic until brown.

Then drain fat.

Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and oregano and stir.

(You can also use jar sauce here or your home made sauce)

In a large bowl mix together the cottage cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese.

I prefer to mix in some provolone as well

Spoon a layer of the meat mixture onto the bottom of the slow cooker.

Add a double layer of the uncooked lasagna noodles.  Add some of  the cheese mixture.
