Eckert’s Strawberry Festival,

Saturday & Sunday 5/18 & 19

Enjoy some family fun picking strawberries at Eckert’s Strawberry Festival in Belleville, IL this weekend. There will be hayrides, carnival rides, a play area and even a petting zoo for the kids. Strawberry bakery items will also be available for purchase in the bakery at the orchard. This festival is sure to get you in the summer spirit. Admission to the festival is free!

Missouri Botanical Garden Chinese Culture Days,festival

Saturday & Sunday 5/18 & 19 10– 5

The Missouri Botanical Garden celebrates China this Saturday and Sunday during their annual celebration. A 70-foot dragon and lion dancers open this springtime celebration that includes a Grand Parade and acrobatics, theater, martial arts, Chinese calligraphy, paintings and authentic regional cuisine. Take in tea tastings in the Grigg Nanjing Friendship Garden, where special tours focus on the symbolism of many plant species and architectural details. Admission is $12 for adults, $5 Children (3-12), and $5 Admission for Garden members

Friday & Saturday 5/17 & 18 in Belleville Ill

Of course there is art — jewelry, sculpture, painting, photography and other works from 100 national artists. But the annual art fair also offers live music, a children’s art tent and the “Living With Art” design stage featuring demonstrations from floral, landscape and interior designers.

Annie Malone May Day Parade/May Day Blues Fest,

Sunday, 5/18 Parade beings at 1.
Celebrating 125 years of service to families and children with a parade through downtown featuring colorful floats, St. Louis’ best marching bands and appearances by local leaders. The parade is followed by the May Day Blues Fest in Kiener Plaza. Parade begins at 1 p.m.
