Do you pay to be recognized?

 Is it political?

Please please by all means take a moment and read the list and tell me which are your favorites.

Man Says He’s Banned From Walmart For Life

What does it say that WALMART bans customers for life? Not for stealing? Not for Vandalism but for Price Matching? Crazy This guy goes there because he LOVES WALMART I have to make myself go, makes ya wanna think twice before you go somewhere just to save a buck!

QUEEN CREEK, AZ (KNXV) — Walmart is speaking out after a Valley man said he found out the hard way just how to get banned from their stores for life.

Joe Cantrell loves to ad match.

He goes through circulars to find the biggest discounts, and then goes to Walmart.

According to the company’s website, they match the lowest advertised price on identical products, but when Joe tried doing that last week, the unthinkable happened.

What started as a trip to a San Tan Valley Walmart to get ornaments for his family’s Christmas tree, turned into the biggest nightmare of Joe’s life.

“I was handcuffed, humiliated and embarrassed in front of everybody at Walmart,” Joe remembers.

Walmart sent ABC15 the following statement Tuesday:

“We make every effort to make sure our customers have a good experience in our stores. As in previous situations, we attempted…

Why to Sell a Home during the Holidays!

Thinking of selling your home over the holidays?

Thinking maybe you should take it off the market until next year?

sell during holidays

Here are some things to take into consideration when deciding to sell over the holiday season.

January is traditionally the month for many employees to begin new jobs or transfer. These employees cannot wait until the “Sales Season” gears up so NOW is the time!

Buyers have more time to look for a home during the holidays than they do during a typical work week.

Houses are more inviting with a feeling of family and tradition when decorated for the holidays.  This makes it easier for prospective buyers to imagine your house as their new home.

Many people need to buy now for tax reasons. shutterstock_117614494-690x350

Listings will increase at the end of January, more homes on the market in the same style as yours, means more competition for you and your home.

People who are looking for a home during the holidays are more likely to be serious buyers.

Serious buyers have fewer homes to choose from during the holiday season. Less inventory on the market means more opportunities for you.

Be sure to contact a local Realtor to help, they are familiar with the area, the pricing and comps as well as listings just coming on or going off the market.  It pays to have a professional in your corner to advise you step by step through the process and benefits  of selling NOW!

Living Your Life – A Month in Review

Six months ago if you had asked me where I would be this Holiday Season I would have either replied with a dreamy version of (where I hoped to be) or I would have said I would be in the same place doing the same thing I always do.

As many of you know 40 days ago my life changed as I moved from the security of a long time job in a safe place into the great unknown of what should I do now.

Let me tell you it is both Terrifying and Empowering.   Some days I am relieved. Other days I cried and worried.  My 89-year-old father thought I LOST my mind and was VERY upset about this career change.  My friends were encouraging and knew that I would find the path I was looking for.  Other entrepreneurs told me how liberated they are leaving behind a “job” and building a future.

It is funny that I found some of the people I trusted, cared about and respected were not there for me, and other people I had overlooked suddenly stepped out of the shadows and became cheerleaders and counselors.

On October 18th everything I knew about my future turned completely upside down.

worried smileyOddly enough, I went through the stages of loss, even though I chose this path.

Denial – Denial that I no longer was working a full time salaried job.

Anger – Anger at myself for choosing change over security.

Bargaining – Bargaining on what I “Wanted” and what I “needed”.

Depression – Depression that maybe I made the wrong decision

Acceptance – Acceptance that I could build the life I wanted.

So after about 3 weeks of that process I got to work.  I started by writing out what I wanted, writing down what it looked like, building plans and strategies, deciding who the people and businesses were that I wanted to work with and who I did not want to work with.  I built a vision of a group of professionals that were strong, vital, creative, business minded, caring, responsible and of course a little bit of fun.

I have to tell you; on this journey I have met some people who will be life long friends!  On this journey I have found two of my friends in particular to be an amazing support to me far more than I ever dreamed they could or would be.

I found out who my friends and allies are and who was never really there at all.  Today, 40 days later my eyes are open, my head is clear, my heart if full and my future is filled with unlimited possibilities!

So this thanksgiving I want to thank you, each and every one of you for watching out for me, supporting or cheering me on in my journey.  You, yes you, every one of you has inspired me.

happily-ever-after2014 is going to be an Amazing year.

Stay Tuned as it all unfolds at my new Company Fan Page Clarity Street

In closing, I hope my joy and excitement can in some way be an inspiration to you and encourage you not sit back and simply be an observer in your life but instead to take it by the reins and be the Map Maker of your Destiny.

Life is short my friends

Do not miss a moment of it!

Trick or Treat Like your 50!

Tonight I enjoyed a whole new level of trick or treating.

I have enjoyed the trick or treat ritual as a child…..

I enjoyed it again as a proud parent….

I have enjoyed it as a grand mother…

But tonight I enjoyed it like a 50 year old.

With no plan we decided to dress up and get in the car.  We drove from house to house neighborhood after neighborhood to the homes of our friends and parties that we randomly saw on Facebook that we were NOT invited to.

We crashed with the “Trick or Treat” chant quickly pressing our empty grandma wine glasses forward.20131031-214904.jpg

No we didn’t want no stinking candy… We wanted wine…  And Yes we had a joke and we wanted a real treat…

Not candy20131031-214833.jpg

Stick of Butter

Oatmeal and even a Potato20131031-214732.jpg

Did I mention I also scored a baseball centerpiece WITH Roses and a half bottle of red wine?

Sure they laughed at us and thought we were joking but this is real life people, and we were on a mission to score a meal!  OK at least I was.20131031-214744.jpg

20131031-214720.jpgMy partner in crime netted 3 mis-matched socks, a mini maraca and a poker chip.   Hmmmmmm  I can train her I promise you she will do better next year.

So beware next Halloween when an older adult walks down the eerily illuminated path to your home, she is not there for “Kids Stuff” but instead for the “Real Thing”  life is short..

Why Does MLB Black Out Games

Like many people I work 9-5.  So I am really at a disadvantage when the Post Season hits and I cannot watch the game on my pc at the office.  I subscribed to so I could watch it on my iPad or AppleTV only to find that it was blacked out.  In fact all games after 1:30 are blacked out.

apple tv mlb

Is this a way for MLB to make more money or what?

Some of us cannot take a half day off work for the game nor do we have the channel they sold the rights to in our offices.  So what are we to do?

Why did I pay the $24 price for post-season if I cannot watch it?

Take Control when Contractors Do you WRONG!

See Updates on the bottom of this Blog Post

bid close up

So my 89 year old Dad and I needed some Tuck pointing work

We went out and got bids for the work to be done and selected a contractor.  My dad and I live across the street from each other so this would be easy one stop job for them.  We put down the 1/2 deposit AND I told Terry J Marler of Marler and Sons (The guy we met with for the bid) I would be leaving town and hopefully he could get it done before or after my trip.SKMBT_C36413101411120_0001

While I was gone he completed the work, there was no one to really check the work as my father walks with a walker and does not get around very well.

Terry showed the work to my 20 year old daughter and thought that was adequate.

Mean while my father was told that the work that he needed was not bid correctly because he did not notice how bad it was.  Now it is chimney work at this house, clearly visible to the naked eye, is this not why you get a bid?  Ok it is not always that easy but the charge was $1000 MORE for my dads house then bid.  That is crazy in and of itself.  But my dad did NOT complain instead he paid the bill.

When I returned home I saw the work and was very disappointed.  I personally called and talked to Terry J Marler as did my father.  Terry told me he would personally come to my home and look at the work and talk to me on Monday AM.

Here is the list on the bid of what was to be done

This is my back step they were to fix

Step work step 2

Here is my front porch step they were to waterproof, FYI that off colored concrete was NOT there when I left town!

Here is the Tuck pointing on my garage

That Monday however 2 workman showed, I asked them if they were her to fix what was wrong, one of the workman said to me, “No we are just here to pick up our form from the back yard for the step.”  I said, that is not a form in the back yard, that is a piece of board and my landscape rocks.  He chuckled and said “Yep, that is what we call a form.”

Days, weeks passed no Terry.

So I emailed

I decided the Better Business Bureau might be able to help me so I filed a complaint.

I was stunned to get a response from the Better Business Bureau that the company I complained about had responded, The BBB thought their response was adequate AND closed the case.  That I could respond but they would not re-open the case unless there was new information.  WHAT NEW INFORMATION could you get?  My garage fell down??????  The response was a LIE!

I sent the BBB the SAME photos you are viewing here, actually I took a few of these photos this morning AFTER the BBB closing my case!!!!!!

bbb closed

Look I just want my money back so I can hire someone to fix this right, I cannot afford to pay someone else, where is the justice?

TV News Crews?

The Attorney General?

Well I am going to try all of those and so here you will find all the updates and information on how this turns out.  I appreciate you liking and sharing this story wherever you can to help me find justice.

For Now Terry J Marler of Marler & Sons Tuckpointing and Masonary and the Better Business Bureau get a HUGE F

bbbf public service annoumcementOne more thing for those of you who are concerned.  This is the actual words Marler & Sons personally used to respond to my complaint.  THEIR OWN WORDS

marler own words

ALL of the Photos included in this blog were taken 10/14 on my iPhone

So if they (Marler) wrote on Oct 11 in the response to the BBB see line #2 “we went back out and completed, our company owner inspected then called customer to inform it was done told her if anything else needed please contact us.”

NOW YOU TELL ME,  Those photos are what Marler & Sons OWNER deem “completed and inspected”. REALLY!!!!!????  WHO IS WRONG HERE?

UPDATE 10/15/2013 Went to Missouri Attorney General site and found 3 complaints against Marler & Sons, 2 in the past 30 days that are unresolved!  Search Marler Here

ALSO UPDATE – Employee Stephanie Gore decided to engage on Facebook tonight with RE/MAX Slander and attacks.  Here is the facebook page of this business should you choose to check it out,  Photos of the Facebook page conversation to follow soon.

Update July 2015– NOW the BBB is warning consumers about Marler!  I give the BBB an F for waiting almost 3 years.  Clearly as you see in the letter from the BBB they were not warning consumers when I compared.  Well maybe now we will see some justice.
